Just FYI ...there are 22 states with similar petitions. Arkansas has more than half the necessary votes.

Assuming what I read was accurate (so hard to know these days when we don't really have freedom of the press) seems the number is up to 43 states now.

At this point it's petitions, in order for it to actually pass, elected officials would have to agree as well, which the Governor of Texas does not.
We are no where near civil war, this is a way for the people to protest the unfairness of elections and the fact that as much as everyone screams we are a democracy, we are not, and we don't actually pick our president, and he's not there by the people, for the people, and now that the people actually realize this, they are upset.

Here's the thing. Let's say Texas goes ahead and does this. I mean, they won't, but lets just say it happens. What you're missing is the fact that you don't have a military. Sure you'll have a militia with every red-neck out there mounting rifles to the top of their pickup truck, but you will not have a true military. You say, "but my husband is military. We have military bases every 15 feet. Etc. Etc. Etc." Those things are true, but they are UNITED STATES Military, not Texas military. So 2 things happen. Either they go AWOL and are the founders of the "Texas Military" (which would cause a US raid because there are now "enemies" at our borders), OR as stated earlier, your military is comprised of 50,000 rednecks fueled on PBR and horrible country music. How long before China decides it would like to have a foothold on "U.S." soil and they decide to attack your "country"? I mean seriously, kid. You gotta think "big picture" here. I hate the socialist [coffee spill]tard just as much as the next guy, but you NEED the protection of the US military. Leaving them is a death sentence... That is all...

Two things:
1. as you said, it won't happen
2. if it does really happen...we'll deal with it. Make no mistake that I don't understand that it won't suck for a good while, but we'll deal with it.
